The rising star maintains impressive social media following
The young golfer will have numerous high-profile cheerleaders as she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates multiple golf courses and frequently competes against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, making him quite busy."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He suggested me to compete, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in the sport at the competition, including world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that her participation exposes golf to different demographics, particularly reaching younger fans.
The young star boasts a massive following and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at late afternoon GMT.
