Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
